AI App Store Submission
Short answer
AI-built apps get rejected for the same reasons as human-built ones: broken flows, placeholder content, missing privacy nutrition, and IAP that does not use StoreKit/Play Billing.
What is AI app store submission?
Preparing an AI-generated or AI-assisted mobile build for Apple and Google review: complete features, privacy labels, demo login, and store-compliant payments.
Rejection vs fix
| Rejection | Typical AI-app cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| 2.1 crashes | Preview-only backend | Stable API + demo account |
| 3.1.1 payments | Stripe inside iOS for digital goods | StoreKit / Play Billing |
| 5.1.1 privacy | No policy / wrong nutrition | Generated then lawyer-reviewed |
| 4.2 minimum | Thin wrapper on a website | Real native value or stay web |
Do not submit the prototype
Reviewers create an account and tap everything. Placeholder AI chats, empty tabs, and “coming soon” are rejects. Finish or hide.
Web vs store
If you are not ready for IAP rules, ship web first. That is a product decision, not a failure.
FAQ
Can a Lovable or Bolt app go on the App Store?
Not as a web wrapper with a store icon. You need a real iOS/Android client (often Expo) that meets guideline 4.2.
