Why Event & Ticketing Platform development is hard to get right

โš ๏ธ

Eventbrite charges 3.5% + $1.79 per ticket โ€” on a $100 ticket, that's $5.29 every sale you lose

โš ๏ธ

QR code ticket generation and mobile check-in app require specific architecture โ€” usually underscoped

โš ๏ธ

Multi-ticket-type events (early bird, GA, VIP, group) need flexible pricing configuration

โš ๏ธ

Organizer payout timing (before vs. after event) is both a business and technical decision

Frequently asked questions

How do you generate and validate QR code tickets?

Each ticket gets a unique UUID stored in Supabase. We generate a QR code from this UUID at purchase and email it as an image + PDF. The check-in app scans it, calls an API with the UUID, and marks it as checked-in. Duplicate scans return 'already used'.
